Sara Hill is the founder and chairman of Capability Jane. Sara works with boards and senior leadership teams to influence, engage and gain commitment to programmes that will transform ways of working and increase the number of women recruited, retained and progressed in the business. Before founding Capability Jane, Sara held senior roles in management consultancy (Ernst & Young, Stratevolve) and in industry (Montague, Virgin) in the UK and the US. Sara is an innovator and evangelist with a real strength for identifying market opportunities, developing solutions and bringing them to market. She is a passionate campaigner for diversity and flexible working (founder of The Job Share Project) and a frequent advisor to organisations, government, policy makers and media.
Gill has over 25 years’ experience in the recruitment industry both within owner/managed businesses and within the larger corporate environment.
Gill was a Director and shareholder of the specialist office recruiter, Tate and was part of the team who sold to Carlisle Staffing in 2000. She then set up Carlisle’s Managed Solutions business before leaving at the end of 2008 to become a self-employed consultant/advisor in 2009.
Her expertise is in both RPO/Managed Services and the professional staffing sector and she also has exposure to many other recruitment disciplines through RPO and during her work as a consultant.
She has a particular passion for SME recruitment businesses and enjoys supporting and mentoring owner/managed businesses helping them to achieve their next level of growth and potential.
She acts as a Chief Examiner and Subject Matter Expert for the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) focusing on Strategic Business Planning, Sales and Bid Management.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals and a one time Governor sitting on the Education and Training Committee. She was awarded the REC Business Manager of the Year award in 2000.

Caroline is MD of Capability Jane Recruitment. She is a qualified HR professional with a postgraduate diploma in HRD. Caroline worked with Caledonian Airways where, amongst other things, she successfully headed up that company’s volume recruitment strategy. In 2000 Caroline joined HRi sourcing, providing HR talent at senior management and director level across all sectors, moving in 2003 to a business development role. In 2009 Caroline set up and successfully ran an HR consultancy offering generalist advice to SMEs before joining Capability Jane in 2012.
Jennifer Brooks is a Senior Account Manager for Capability Jane Recruitment. With a background in marketing, Jennifer has spent the majority of her career in Account Management and Sales Team Management. She spent 4 years at Thomson Reuters becoming UK Sales Director before moving into working with SMEs where she used her skills and experience to implement sales and growth strategies. Jennifer is passionate about working with clients to understand their needs and put in place flexible solutions that enable them to achieve their own business objectives.
Karen is Marketing Manager at Capability Jane Recruitment. Qualified with the CIM Diploma of Marketing she has over 15 years’ experience within large Corporates including Barclays and the Financial Times. More recently she has been working for small and medium size businesses providing strategy and management of the full marketing suite using both traditional and digital marketing. Experienced in website management, SEO, PPC as well as marketing strategy and planning. Karen is passionate about customer focus within businesses.
Sandra is Capability Jane’s Operations Manager and is responsible for the smooth running of all Capability Jane’s business processes. She also manages the businesses finances, systems and management information. Sandra has extensive experience delivering CRM, database and IT system solutions having worked for top tier firms in the legal, property, management and financial sectors. Sandra monitors Capability Jane’s quality of service for candidates and clients and together with the management team ensures top standards are delivered.
Ruth returned to Capability Jane as our Candidate Engagement Manager which she refers to as her dream job – Spending her days talking to interesting people – what’s not to love?! For the last 24 years Ruth has worked in recruitment and people development industries in a variety of roles, moving from recruiting to management, then sales and marketing. Post maternity leave Ruth ran a small consultancy specialising in flexible working and then spent 4 years running her own business developing products and strategies for growth for a range of corporate and SME clients. After 3 years as a Director of a small talent engagement consultancy, Ruth returns to us this year in this new role.
With previous experience working with music and entertainment industry professionals, and more extensive experience as a Recruitment Professional with a demonstrated history of working the full 360 degree recruiting cycle, Lisa prides herself on the ability to communicate on different levels, with an appreciation of the importance of developing relationships to get the best out of people. At Capability Jane, Lisa now has the opportunity to hone her key skills into the areas of recruitment that she enjoys the most and help multitudes of senior candidates to find their dream work/life balance.
