Interim Part time FD & COO

Our client is a specialist B2B consulting firm in the financial services industry, they are a small and entrepreneurial young business and are highly innovative.
 They have been operating in the commercial risk and insurance sector for over 15 years and focus has upon detailed, technical analysis, often challenging accepted wisdom.
They are seeking a part-time FD & COO to work 4 days a week at either the London or Exeter office. This person will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
 
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a 12 month maternity cover contract, reporting to the CEO.  This person is responsible for the commercial development of the company supporting the sales and technical delivery team as well as managing the back office.  
A team of three part time staff report in, covering HR, IT, Financial and Management Accounting and Contracts.
 
Candidates will bring a proven track record of delivering improvements within companies, including planning and implementation. They will have experience within an SME sized Company or consultancy environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
• Ensure the organisation executes its long-term and short-term plans by exercising judgement, vision, management, and leadership.
• Evaluate and improve the performance of the company
• Improve commercial awareness across the company
• Direct and motivate the back office function with responsibility for Finance, HR, IT, Contracts, Compliance and Insurance
• Manage key stakeholder relationships such as auditors, the bank, insurers and regulators
• Ensure robust management of all core financial processes particularly forward cash planning
• Develop the business system including 
   o Determining improvements that can me made to the way projects and the sales pipeline managed
   o Supporting the technical delivery team and sales team to implement improvements 
• Provide regular, accurate and informative management information to the executive committee
• Produce quarterly board reports and attend all board meetings
• Take all necessary actions to ensure the organisation meets its legal and financial responsibilities

Salary: £85-95K FTE
Location: Central London or Exeter
Flexibilty: 4 days a week  (initialy all days to be office based, then once settled can work from home for part of the week)
