Global Head of HR – 3-4 days per week

Pay: £70,000 FTE

We are working with our client – a fast-growing SME in the logistics sector to recruit a Global Head of HR to play a strategic as well as an operational role as they move to the next phase of growth.
This is a people-centric business that places great importance on issues such as employee engagement, staff retention and coaching of managers and these will be key aspects of the role.   The Senior Leadership Team want to ensure that people are at the heart of the strategy moving forward and therefore input into strategic discussions and business partnering at the most senior level are crucial responsibilities.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Creation of the best possible employee experience for the workforce.
  • Working effectively, transparently and in a partner-like fashion with the Group Managing Director and Senior Management team on their vision of building one of the best teams in the world. That means not just attracting, but also retaining, rewarding and developing some of the most talented people.
  • Creating and delivering a comprehensive People Strategy, aligned with the Company's business strategy and goals.
  • Working closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager to create an approach to recruitment that builds our employee brand and enables us to attract the brightest minds.
  • Coaching and developing team leaders to make sure that goals and KPI's are set correctly, regularly reviewed and evaluated
  • Maintaining a strong awareness of best practice, employment legislation and statutory guidance to ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met  

About you:

  • You have a strong foundation across all HR functional areas including; talent planning and management, organisational development, compensation and benefits, compliance/legal policies, learning and development, rewards, engagement, employee relations etc.
  • You have a proven track record in people/ HR related role – ideally you will have been a HR Head/ level in another fast-growing business, and know what it takes to build a brilliant People function and align it with the goals of the business.
  • You need to be a self-starter, who is ambitious, commercial, and collaborative – someone who constantly strives for improvement, and always looks for growth
  • You have a strategic mindset and can plan for the future, but at the same time dig into to details and get your hands dirty when needed
