High street brand agrees to part-time & remote working for new property lawyer

A Strong Proposition, but One Major Issue

The client, a leading brand retailer, had a need for a property lawyer on an interim basis to cover maternity leave. The role was technical and stimulating, but not full-time, the client only needed 2.5 days input. There were a lot of positives on offer with one major challenge: the location of the office was in the West Country.

Working Together on a Solution

Capability Jane Recruitment received high levels of interest in the role, and the client was very impressed with the calibre of candidates who were sourced. However, as expected, the location was a hurdle too big for many.

But one candidate – who was really attracted by the strength of the brand – was prepared to take on the challenge of the travel for two days per week while working the additional half day from home. It was a good solution. The terms were discussed, negotiated and confirmed.

Despite coming to Capability Jane Recruitment with an acute awareness of the potential difficulties the location afforded, the client was delighted with the quality and choice of candidates presented, and delighted to be able to cover their interim position so well.
