Profile & experience

Laura is a data-driven and insightful co-worker who is passionate about developing teams who own and enjoy what they do. She is honest and optimistic and cares most that valuable progress is being made for customers and investors.

Laura has actively sought a variety of experiences in her career to make her a CFO who can operate in start-up or SME and grow with them. She brings valuable commercial experience from working with private investors, strong technical accounting skills from qualifying with PwC and the ability to learn quickly and make impact from interim roles.

Laura leads with a coaching philosophy, a focus on problem solving and always with the objective producing relevant and engaging information. She has led businesses through fundraising, refinancing, sales, acquisitions and digital transformation and she’s looking for a start up or SME to join with a vision that she can be part of helping to achieve.

Laura’s previous experience includes leading the financial modelling for the £600m debt refinancing of Autotrader in 2014, also working on the initial purchase offer (IPO) story prior to its London Stock Exchange listing.

In 2017 she was one of the first employees in a retail fund, setting up the internal systems and delivering the day to day finance operations and within three months was key part of the deal team completing the £1.7m acquisition of Holland and Barrett.

Most recently in 2018/19 Laura helped a health tech start up develop its financial strategy, implemented KPI to achieve growth and led the financial side of a +£7m series A follow on round.

When she’s not thinking about budgets or formatting data, she’s exercising, playing with her young family and, very occasionally, watching Hey Duggie.
